Brucemore: Free For All Songwriting Workshop

Have you ever had an idea you wanted to turn into a song? Join Brucemore for a free beginner or intermediate songwriting workshop where you’ll explore your own creativity, find inspiration in the experiences around you, and connect with others through music.

Intermediate Songwriting Session – Saturday, October 24, 1:00 – 5:00 pm Some songwriting experience required. We will be looking at storytelling both lyrically and melodically, the difference between the roles of a songwriter and a singer-songwriter, how melody and harmony can make or break the best lyrics, and the business of songwriting.

Please bring at least one song demo you wish to share with a copy of the lyrics (if applicable), as there will be a writer’s circle at this session. Beginning Songwriting Session – Sunday, October 25 No musical experience is necessary.

We will be exploring the relationships between words and melody, how to get started, remain motivated, and the basics of storytelling. Bring your preferred method of writing things down, an open mind, and a willingness to create.

Participants must be at least 13 years old. Capacity is limited for each class.
