Celebrate Fil-Am Month - Explore Poetry with Collage

Using archival materials, students will produce a hybrid poem and collage on limited edition "One Down" letterpress prints. Participants will learn about the historical significance of the Filipino phrase "isang bagsak" from the farm workers' movement of the 1960's-1970's and how language helped create solidarity. Participants will be invited to reflect on movements important in their own lives and how they might integrate words and images to connect with this moment in Fil-Am history. All creative levels welcome with materials provided. Program is co-presented by Kundiman Mountain West.
