Tuesday Afternoon at the Movies

SYNOPSIS: On Christmas Eve, after receiving a “Dear John” letter, an army lieutenant heading to San Francisco to meet his fiancé is diverted to New Orleans. Stranded and aimless in a city he doesn’t know, he stumbles into a low-rent cabaret and meets Jackie Lamont (Deanna Durbin), a hostess and singer who agrees to spend the holiday with him. However, she is not what she presents herself to be and the city is not the festive place the season implies.
