Opening event details
he 178h Annual Cherokee Heights Arts Festival (CHAF) is Saturday, October 17th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Festival is on Freyer Drive NE between Etowah and Chicasaw Drives.
There is no admission charge, all street parking is free, and everyone is invited! Cherokee Heights is a 1924 National Historic Register subdivision just a mile north of the Marietta Square.
For many years, residents of this quaint neighborhood had produced a boutique, invitation-only art show to share their talents with friends. In 2009, they moved the show outdoors and threw it open to the world.
They now offer the creative work of more than forty neighbors and friends for this one day each year. The show will cover a block of Freyer Drive between Etowah and Chicasaw drives, just one block off Cherokee Street.
Check out the Cherokee Heights Arts Festival Facebook & Instagram pages for a preview of the artists’ works. It’s important to understand that the Festival is entirely produced by dozens of volunteer neighbors.
Two music “stages” at the ends of the block will feature local musicians in free performances throughout the day. Lovingly made local arts and crafts include original paintings, wood work, pottery, graphics, photography, jewelry, metal work, textiles, baked goods, original books and much more.
There are lots of holiday gifting possibilities and an art experience where kids can create a craft of their own provided by the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art. Food and beverages are available for purchase, and they will have beer on tap to enjoy while you listen to music.
This show is free to all, courtesy of neighborhood sponsors. See the list of wonderful community businesses on our sponsors page that make this special event possible.
Reports are sampled and deduplicated by source and reason.
