Ian Harland Vibraphone Quartet
Ian Harland is a San Diego-born jazz vibraphonist, drummer, percussionist, recording artist, and educator known for his versatility and improvisational style. He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Jazz Studies from San Diego State University, where his interest in harmony and composition led him to specialize in vibraphone.
His musical approach draws on jazz traditions, including bebop and post-bop, while incorporating elements of blues, Latin jazz, and swing. Harland performs and records throughout San Diego and the West Coast, collaborating with accomplished local musicians across jazz, rock, and funk.
His quartet showcases the expressive, shimmering sound of the vibraphone alongside piano, bass, and drums, offering an engaging small-ensemble jazz experience. IG: iharland
