Watching from dry sand is a fully respectable way to participate. The dip is free with no registration, just show up ready to get wet, and commemorative shirt sales fund the Chamber’s community events, with pre-sales opening in December.

Bring towels, warm layers for after, and dry clothes in the car. Cayucos is about ten minutes up Highway 1 from Morro Bay, though New Year’s Day parking fills early, so build in time.
