James Lin, book talk
James Lin will be coming to Purdue to give a book talk on In The Global Vanguard, Agrarian Development and the Making of Modern Taiwan, which won the Agricultural History Society’s Henry A. Wallace book award.
In this book, Lin shows that the Republic of China sought to secure diplomatic ties by extending agricultural development aid to nearby Southeast Asian nations. In the talk for us at Purdue, Lin will focus on chapters 3 and 7 on agricultural science, developmental aid, farmers' associations, and the Green Revolution.
