Día de Muertos Community Gathering & Ofrenda
The public is invited to bring a photograph of a passed away beloved to place on the community altar. You may also bring a small offering, written intention, memory, or symbolic object honoring remembrance and transformation.
Family-friendly art activities will be available throughout the gathering. Día de los Muertos reminds us that memory is a living relationship.
Through flowers, photographs, stories, art, and community, we make a place for those who came before us and remember the threads that continue to connect the living, the dead, and the more-than-human world. All are welcome.
You do not need to be Mexican or have previous experience with Día de los Muertos to participate. We ask only that you enter the space with curiosity, respect, and reverence for the cultural tradition being shared.
More information, registration details, and individual event please use registration link in this post or contact Gloria Alatorre at (507)313 6508 [email protected] This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
