COPELAND Check out Tallgrass Film Festival for full festival schedule. 2:00 P.M. SEIZED Seized is a gripping, stranger-than-fiction investigative thriller that plunges audiences inside the troubling police raid on the Marion County Record.
What begins as a shocking small-town incident quickly spirals into a national story, exposing how corruption, politics, and decades-long tensions turned a quaint Kansas community into a battleground over the First and Fourth Amendments. Equal parts hilarious and horrifying, the film unfolds in real time through police body-cam and surveillance footage, revealing the raid’s chaos, the remarkable pettiness that led up to them, and the devastating personal toll on the newsroom, including the tragic death of its 98-year-old co-owner. 5:15 P.M.
HARRISON FORD COMES TO WICHITA When Hollywood legend Harrison Ford makes his annual trips to Wichita, Kansas, the town buzzes with local folklore known as “Harrison Sightings.” For filmmaker Graham High, what begins as an investigation into a hometown mystery unfolds into something bigger. Harrison Ford Comes to Wichita is a feature-length documentary that paints an endearing portrait of a city, its salt-of-the-earth locals, and the unexpected ways we find ourselves in the places we left behind. 8:00 P.M.
COPELAND A new documentary film about Stewart Copeland, the legendary drummer of The Police, is showcasing his multifaceted career and life story. The film, directed by Pablo Aragüés, features never seen before vintage video footage taken by Copeland, himself.
The documentary explores Copeland’s journey from his childhood in Beirut to his rise to fame with The Police and his subsequent work on films and film scores, including Francis Ford Coppola’s “Rumble Fish” and Oliver Stone’s “Wall Street” The film features Copeland’s dynamic reflections on his life and career, set against the backdrop of his performance at a beloved festival in the south of Italy. Stewart Copeland will be in attendance, along with the filmmakers.
